Blue Crabs Stymie Bluff City, Take 3-0 Win
|
Ocean City got a strong outing from Darrell May as the Blue Crabs defeated the Bluff City Beasties, 3-0, at Fire Dogs Ballpark. May, now 1-0, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing no earned runs. Earning his 1st save of the year was Brian Bevil.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the fourth, with the game tied, Jeff Abbott was at the plate when Ocean City scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Blue Crabs to go in front, 1-0.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," May said.
With the loss, Bluff City sinks to 2-2.
