Whalers Get Road Win, 11-8
The Asheville Moonshiners got a sterling performance from first baseman Randall Simon, but the Whalers still prevailed, 11-8. Simon was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Getting the save was Cory Lidle, his 1st. Losses have been few and far between for the Moonshiners so far this season. Their record drops to 2-1.

Hartford relied on the hitting of Alex Ochoa to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Whalers on top, 10-7. For the game, Ochoa had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Ochoa told the Hartford Chronicle.
