Appier Handcuffs Cubs, Sun Rays Seize 3-0 Advantage in DS
|
The Orlando Sun Rays moved to within one game of the League Championship today, downing the Chicago Cubs on the road at Wrigley Field by a score of 4-1. Sun Rays right-hander Kevin Appier was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings of 6-hit ball. The win gives the Sun Rays a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 Division Series.

"It was a solid team effort," said Appier after the game.
