Garcia Slugs Clippers to 6-5 Win
|
A 4-RBI performance from the 29-year old second baseman Carlos Garcia helped the Columbus Clippers beat the Jacksonville Suns, 6-5. Glendon Rusch got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 4 runs on 7 hits in 6.1 innings. Earning his 1st save of the year was Nelson Cruz.
In the top of the first, Garcia pounced on a 2-0 fastball from Ryan Bowen and hit a 2-run home run. It put Columbus on top, 2-0.
Garcia told a Columbus Chronicle reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
With the win, Columbus pushes its record to 1-1.
