The Colorado Rockies got a great start from 36-year-old left-hander Bob Ojeda, who earned player of the game honors today as Colorado won the contest 8-4 at Mile High Stadium. Ojeda threw 8 innings of 5-hit ball in the win, which allowed the Colorado to grab a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.

With two out in the bottom of the third, Juan Gonzalez barreled up a slider from Charles Nagy. The result was a 2-run home run, putting the Rockies in front, 3-0.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Gonzalez.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow. The scheduled starters for the game are Kent Mercker for the Montreal Expos and Orel Hershiser for the the Colorado Rockies.
