The Brooklyn Cyclones and Toledo Mud Hens provided some drama at Ballpark of Fremont.
Pitcher Brad Holman was sensational for the Toledo Mud Hens in his team's 2-1 triumph over the Brooklyn Cyclones. Holman received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. In 5 innings, Holman surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Mike James closed it out for his 3rd save.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and one out in the top of the sixth inning. That's when shortstop Takuro Ishii hit a run-scoring single. The Mud Hens went on to win.
Afterward, Mud Hens manager was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
At 4-1, the Mud Hens have played well so far.
