Moonshiners Stymie Columbus, Take 3-1 Win
|
Asheville turned a good effort from starter Chan Ho Park into a win over the Columbus Clippers at Mules Ballpark. The final score was 3-1. The win moves Asheville to a record of 3-2.
The result might have been different for Asheville, had it not been for Jermaine Allensworth, the 25-year old center fielder . Allensworth stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put Asheville up, 2-0. For the game, he had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Allensworth, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
