Cora has 4 hit night, Dairy Daddies Move to 5-2
|
The Danville Dairy Daddies beat the Ocean City Blue Crabs, 8-4, at Kernels Ballpark. The win was largely due to the efforts of designated hitter Joey Cora, who captured player of the game honors. He was 4 for 5 with 2 triples and 2 singles, while adding 6 RBI and scoring once. Danville reliever Aaron Small picked up the win to move to 1-0. Ariel Prieto suffered the loss. Felix Rodriguez earned the save for Danville, his 1st of the year.
Cora in the bottom of the fourth had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Dairy Daddies trailing 4-2, he hit a 2-run single.
"We maximized our offense today," said Danville skipper . "That makes everyone's life easier."
Danville, now 5-2, has gotten their season off to a good start.
