Whalers Bang Out 14-5 Win Versus Bluff City
|
The Hartford Whalers topped the Bluff City Beasties, 14-5, in Atlantic action at Wolves Ballpark. The player of the game was Hartford pitcher and Brooklyn, New York native Frank Seminara. In 7 innings, Seminara surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. The Whalers, now 4-2, have been on a roll in the early going.
In the bottom of the seventh, Hartford shortstop Kurt Abbott had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Abbott stroked a bases-clearing triple to center. It made the score 14-2, Hartford. For the game, he was 2 for 4 with a triple and was hit by a pitch, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once.
