Brooklyn Cyclones starter Danny Cox pitched a strong game against the Savannah Swamp Foxes at Ballpark of Fremont, leading the Cyclones to a 5-2 win. Cox, now 1-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 2 earned runs. Steve Reed recorded the save for Brooklyn, his 1st of the season.

The Cyclones got a big at-bat from shortstop Nelson Liriano. For the game, Liriano went 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Brooklyn a 2-0 lead.
