Mets Roll to 9-2 Win Over Tigers
The New York Mets downed the Detroit Tigers, 9-2, at Tiger Stadium. Pedro Munoz led the way, going 3-for-4 for New York. Bob Milacki was the winner. Over 7.2 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 8 hits, with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. The Mets, now 10-5, have played some good baseball in the early going.

Cliff Floyd took Jim Neidlinger deep with no one out in the top of the first. On a 0-2 cutter, Floyd drilled a solo home run to left-center. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put New York on top, 1-0.

"We'll keep our chins up and get ready for the next game," said losing manager Julio Izquierdo.
