Dodgers Get Road Win, 4-1
|
The Los Angeles Dodgers picked up a win at Bank One Ballpark, knocking off the Arizona Diamondbacks, 4-1. Starting pitcher Aaron Sele, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Getting the save was John Franco, his 1st. Los Angeles, now 2-0, has gotten their season off to a good start.
The result might have been different for Los Angeles, had it not been for Kevin Stocker. The shortstop produced a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Dodgers ahead, 3-1. For the game, Stocker had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We did a lot of things right," said Stocker.
