Arizona left fielder Butch Huskey had a 5-RBI performance, which helped his team grab a 18-4 win over the Oakland Athletics. Arizona starter Floyd Youmans was credited with the win after throwing 101 pitches over 6 innings. His record now stands at 2-1. Picking up the save was Miguel Batista, his 1st.

Arizona needed the clutch hitting of Mark Grace to notch the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Diamondbacks on top, 7-2. For the game, Grace had 1 home run and 1 single in 6 at-bats.

"Enjoyed this one," Grace told the Arizona Herald. "But it's back to work tomorrow."

The defending champion Diamondbacks have struggled a bit to find their groove this season, but improve to 8-8 with the win.
