Tom Lampkin had a good game, but he could not keep the Rochester Red Wings from falling, 5-4, to the Bluff City Beasties at Ballpark of Ft. Lauderdale. The Rochester catcher was 4-4 with a double and 3 singles in the loss. The Red Wings, now 4-8, continue their poor start.

Bluff City used the timely hitting of Brian McRae to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Beasties ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Bluff City manager . "It's usually not just one thing."
