Milwaukee Otters starter Willie Blair was in fine form against the Columbus Clippers at Mules Ballpark, leading his team to a 5-3 win. The Clippers drop to 7-9 and continue their inconsistent start to the 1997 season.

The Otters got a big at-bat from designated hitter Desi Relaford. For the game, Relaford went 1-4 with a double. In the top of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 3rd double of the season gave Milwaukee a 1-0 lead.

"It was sure nice to get the win but there's a lot of baseball left," Relaford after the game.
