Dairy Daddies Win at Columbus, 6-2
|
The exploits of left fielder Todd Hollandsworth, who leads the ATL in hits with 30, helped the Danville Dairy Daddies defeat the Columbus Clippers, 6-2. Hollandsworth went 2-5 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Joe Borowski closed the door for Danville, picking up his 5th save of the year. The Dairy Daddies, now 11-4, have been on fire in the early going.
Hollandsworth contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Danville in the top of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Hollandsworth took a curveball from Carlos Pulido and stroked the home run to right. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Dairy Daddies to leap in front, 3-1.
"If it's down the middle," said Hollandsworth, "you might as well hit it."
