Suns Prove Rude Guests, Win 7-3 at Bluff City
|
The Jacksonville Suns topped the Bluff City Beasties, 7-3, in Atlantic action at Ravens Ballpark. The player of the game was Jacksonville pitcher and Salinas, Puerto Rico native Ricky Bones. In 8.1 innings, Bones surrendered 10 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed 3 runs. The Beasties drop to 7-8 and continue their inconsistent start to the 1997 season.
With no one out in the bottom of the fourth, Jeff Manto had a chance to do some damage. Bluff City was trailing 4-0, but had the bases loaded. Manto came to the plate against Ricky Bones, and hit into a double play. But it was not enough to complete a Bluff City comeback.
