Pride Leads Charge, Ocean City Blasts Cyclones
|
A 8-RBI performance from left fielder Curtis Pride, who is tied for 4th in the ATL in stolen bases with 2, led the Ocean City Blue Crabs to a 15-2 win over the Brooklyn Cyclones. Brooklyn, at 1-15, is off to a poor start in 1997.
The Blue Crabs got a big at-bat from catcher Einar Diaz. For the game, Diaz was 4-5 with 4 singles and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 19th hit of the season gave Ocean City a 1-0 lead.
"This is one game in a long season," said losing manager . "The sooner we can forget about it, the better."
