Moonshiners Prove Rude Guests, Win 5-2 at Ocean City
|
Asheville rode a fine outing from starter Tim Wakefield to victory over the Ocean City Blue Crabs at Fire Dogs Ballpark. The final score was 5-2. Mike Draper saved it for Asheville. The Blue Crabs, at 4-15, have stumbled out of the gate.
Also pitching in for Asheville was center fielder Rikkert Faneyte, who hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the second. For the game, Faneyte was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
In postgame comments to the Asheville Herald, Wakefield said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
