Salkeld Dazzles in Danville Win
|
The Danville Dairy Daddies topped the Hartford Whalers, 2-0, in Atlantic action at Kernels Ballpark. The player of the game was Danville pitcher and Burbank, Illinois native Roger Salkeld. Earning his 6th save of the year was Joe Borowski. The Dairy Daddies, now 14-5, have been on fire in the early going.
Salkeld delivered a quality start for Danville. The 6' 5" right-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits over 7.1 innings of work.
"I got in a good groove," said Salkeld. "I was getting some swings and misses."
