Today was Jose Mercedes's turn in the rotation for the Rochester Red Wings and he made the most of it, shutting out the Milwaukee Otters on 5 hits.

The 26-year-old right-hander led the Red Wings to an easy 8-0 victory, allowing 4 walks and tallying 8 strikeouts.
