Spiders Drop Sun Rays with Late Score
|
Cleveland played host to Orlando at the friendly confines of League Park.
The Cleveland Spiders topped the Orlando Sun Rays by the score of 8-6, with the biggest share of the credit going to catcher Tony Eusebio. Eusebio went 2-3 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Spiders on the day. Sterling Hitchcock earned the save for Cleveland, his 4th.
Eusebio had a game-changing double in the bottom of the eighth. On a 3-0 fastball from Rudy Seanez, he banged a bases-clearing double to center, giving the Spiders a 7-5 lead. It was the 3rd double of the year for Eusebio.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Eusebio. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
The Sun Rays fall to 5-9 and continue their uninspiring start to the 1995 season.
