Red Wings Nip Otters, 4-3
|
The Milwaukee Otters got a sterling performance from pitcher Mark Clear, but the Red Wings still prevailed, 4-3. Clear was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 5 innings of 3-hit ball. The Red Wings raised their record to 9-10.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the bottom of the sixth inning. That's when shortstop Rich Aurilia, who is tied for 10th in the ATL in triples with 1, drew a walk. The Red Wings went on to win.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Milwaukee skipper , "and it cost us."
