Castellano Goes Off, But Clippers Win
|
Pedro Castellano had a good game, but he could not keep the Brooklyn Cyclones from falling, 15-12, to the Columbus Clippers at Mules Ballpark. The Brooklyn third baseman hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 5 in the loss. Columbus reliever Marc Wilkins picked up the win to move to 2-0. Todd Erdos suffered the loss. Brooklyn, at 1-21, has had a dismal start to the season.
The Clippers got a big at-bat from first baseman Derrek Lee. For the game, Lee went 1 for 4 with a walk and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 23rd hit of the season gave Columbus a 6-4 lead.
"We've hit a rough patch right now," said Brooklyn skipper .
