Swamp Foxes Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Red Wings
|
Tony Longmire helped his team muscle past the Rochester Red Wings, 8-3. In the game, the Savannah designated hitter was 3-5 with 3 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Savannah reliever John Wasdin was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Wade Taylor took the loss. The Swamp Foxes, now 15-7, have been on a roll in the early going.
Jimmy Hurst tagged a home run off Wade Taylor in the top of the eighth. His 2-run blast put the Swamp Foxes on top, 5-3. In all, Hurst had 2 singles in addition to the home run, while going 3 for 5.
