Beasties Take Tight Tilt
|
Bluff City right-hander Steve W Sparks helped his team edge Danville by the score of 2-1. Sparks kept the opposing lineup in check. Sparks, now 2-3, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing 1 earned run. Brad Clontz recorded the save for Bluff City, his 6th of the season.
Jesus Tavarez helped out the Bluff City cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the left fielder drove in one run.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Tavarez said.
The second-place Beasties have won 5 consecutive games.
