Loss to Red Wings Extends Brooklyn Losing Streak
|
The Rochester Red Wings topped the Brooklyn Cyclones, 7-2, in Atlantic action at Ballpark of Fremont. The player of the game was Rochester pitcher and Castro Valley, California native Brian Keyser. Keyser got the win, improving to 1-2. He allowed 2 hits and walked 2 over 5.1 innings. Keyser allowed 2 earned runs. Oscar Munoz was credited with the save for Rochester, his 1st of the season.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and one out in the top of the seventh inning. That's when third baseman Scott Sheldon, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 1996 draft, hit a single. The Red Wings went on to win.
"We bring energy to every game," said losing manager . "But it's got to translate into wins."
The losing streak has reached 21 games for the Cyclones. Manager was visibly upset after the game, hurling a string of profanities en route to the clubhouse.
