Moonshiners Score Late to Upend Cyclones, 6-3
|
The Asheville Moonshiners picked up a win at Ballpark of Fremont, knocking off the Brooklyn Cyclones, 6-3. On the mound for Asheville was right-hander Tim Wakefield, who played a pivotal role in the win. Mike Draper closed the game out for Asheville, earning his 6th save. Asheville has now won 6 straight, while the Cyclones have lost 4 in a row.
Asheville needed the clutch hitting of Tomas Perez to notch the win. The second baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Moonshiners on top, 6-3. For the game, Perez had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
