Late Rally by Senators Secures Win
Washington left-hander Carlos Perez made an effective start against the Montreal Expos at Olympic Stadium, leading his team to a 8-3 win. With their winning streak at 5, the Senators have raced to a strong start this season.

Washington used the bat of Rafael Palmeiro to get the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Senators ahead, 5-3. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"I believe in our guys," said Washington skipper Alexander Cumana. "I like the energy they're playing with."
