Streaking Bisons Win Another One
|
The Buffalo Bisons faced a tough opponent in Savannah pitcher Felipe Lira, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Aspinwall Grounds by a final score of 3-0. Lira went 7.1 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Reliever Bill Wilkinson picked up the win. His record improves to 3-0. Felipe Lira took the loss. Tim Fortugno closed the game out for Buffalo, earning his 11th save.
The Bisons ran into trouble in the top of the fifth. The score was 1-0, Buffalo, with no one out. Savannah, with a runner on 1st, had Sandy Martinez at the plate. With a base hit, he could have changed the complexion of the game. Instead, he hit into a double play and the Bisons went on to win.
Buffalo now has a 6-game win streak.
