Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Dairy Daddies
|
With shortstop Takahiro Ikeyama leading the charge, the Danville Dairy Daddies defeated the Milwaukee Otters, 10-9, at Kernels Ballpark. Ikeyama was 2 for 3 with 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Danville reliever Jay Witasick picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Dan Miceli absorbed the loss. The Dairy Daddies, now 14-17, know that wins in May count the same as wins in September.
Danville designated hitter Tim Worrell had a key at-bat for the Dairy Daddies in the bottom of the ninth inning. Facing Milwaukee pitcher Dan Miceli, Worrell hit a walk-off run-scoring single to make the score 10-9, Danville. For the day, he went 1 for 3 with a walk.
"We saved our best for last," said Ikeyama.
