Hartford withstood an impressive performance by Rochester shortstop Rich Aurilia to defeat the Red Wings, 6-5, at Wolves Ballpark. Aurilia went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. Frank Seminara got the win, improving to 3-1. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 11 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 2. Cory Lidle closed the game out for Hartford, earning his 11th save.

The Whalers got a big at-bat from right fielder Todd Dunwoody, who in the bottom of the sixth hit a run-scoring double. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Whalers on top, 5-4.

"It was sure nice to get the win but there's a lot of baseball left," Dunwoody after the game.

The Red Wings, now 14-17, have lost 4 in a row.
