Rockies Take Tight Tilt, 2-1
|
Colorado Rockies starter Curt Schilling pitched a strong game against the San Diego Padres at Mile High Stadium, leading the Rockies to a 2-1 win. Colorado has a record of 9-7.
Keith Lockhart had a big run-scoring single for the Rockies in the bottom of the second inning. With Colorado leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from Pete Schourek and stroked the single to center. It was his 14th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rockies ahead, 2-0.
"I really like what we did out there today," Schilling said after the game.
