Diamondbacks Lose to Athletics, 7-3
|
The Oakland Athletics topped the Arizona Diamondbacks, 7-3, in United League action at Oakland Coliseum. The player of the game was Oakland pitcher and Sunnyside, Washington native Todd Stottlemyre. The Athletics, with just their 4th win in 16 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.
Greg Litton, the Oakland shortstop, contributed a run-scoring double in the bottom of the second inning to make the score 2-1, Athletics. For the game, Litton was 2 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"I found a nice groove out there," said Stottlemyre.
