Jacksonville Suns starter Mike Morgan was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Hartford Whalers, 2-0. Jacksonville now owns a record of 17-17.

Jorge Velandia, the Jacksonville shortstop, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth inning to make the score 2-0, Suns. For the game, Velandia was 3 for 4 with 3 singles.
