Swamp Foxes Win in Extras
|
The Savannah Swamp Foxes topped the Milwaukee Otters, 12-6, in Atlantic action at Stags Ballpark. The player of the game was Savannah pitcher Jason Dickson. Savannah reliever Dave Fleming was the winner. His record is now 2-1. Todd Ritchie took the loss. The first-place Swamp Foxes have a one-game lead in their division.
Savannah right fielder Jimmy Hurst had a key at-bat for the Swamp Foxes in the top of the 11th inning. Facing Milwaukee pitcher Mark Clear, Hurst drew a walk, driving in 1 run to make the score 7-6, Savannah. For the day, he went 1-5 with a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"We'll savor this win," Hurst told the Savannah Daily News, "then get ready for the next game."
