Blue Crabs Stymie Columbus, Take 8-1 Win
|
The exploits of designated hitter Keith Mitchell, who is tied for 3rd in the ATL in bases on balls with 23, helped the Ocean City Blue Crabs defeat the Columbus Clippers, 8-1. Mitchell went 3 for 5 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Ocean City reliever Scott Brow picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jeff Pico took the loss. At 11-27, the Blue Crabs are currently last in the Atlantic Southeast.
Ocean City second baseman Ray Durham helped the Blue Crabs to the win. In the top of the fourth inning, the 23-year old second baseman stroked a single. For the game, Durham was 1-5.
"We'll keep our chins up and get ready for the next game," said losing manager .
