Hartford first baseman Todd Walker played a vital role in his team's 7-3 triumph over Bluff City. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for Hartford. The Whalers, at 27-12, lead by one game in their division.

An important at-bat for Hartford came with two out in the top of the seventh. With a runner on 1st, Walker hit a 2-run home run, which contributed to the Whalers win.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Walker told the Hartford Chronicle. "It's as simple as that."
