Wehner 3-4 as Whalers Squeeze Past Asheville
|
With center fielder John Wehner leading the charge, the Hartford Whalers defeated the Asheville Moonshiners, 7-6, at Wolves Ballpark. Wehner, who is tied for 6th in the ATL in runs scored with 36, was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Billy Wagner picked up the save for Hartford, his 11th of the year. The Whalers have an impressive 29-15 record.
Wehner was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 against the Moonshiners. With the game tied in the bottom of the fourth inning, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run that scored 1 and put Hartford in front, 4-3.
