Milligan Helps Whalers Run Win Streak to 4
The Hartford Whalers beat the Southeast Slammers, 5-2, at Ravens Ballpark. Randy Milligan was recognized as player of the game for his performance. He was 3-3 with 2 doubles and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. The 33-year old first baseman was a menace to Southeast all day. David Nied, credited with the win, is now 2-0. He allowed 2 runs on 9 hits in 8 innings. The second-place Whalers have won 4 in a row.

There was more than one reason the Whalers beat the Slammers, but Milligan's big at-bat in the top of the third was an important factor. He staked his team to a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run double.

Milligan told a Hartford Today reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
