Clippers Bridle Cyclones, 3-1
|
Columbus starter Anthony Young put a stranglehold on the Brooklyn offense. The right-hander had complete command of his sinker in leading the Clippers to a 3-1 win. The Clippers saw their win-loss record go to 19-27. At the same time, the Cyclones fell to 23-23.
Dave McCarty went 1-3 for Columbus. The 25-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Frank Viola. It was his 19th RBI of the season.
"Anthony is still learning," said Clippers manager . "The sky's the limit for him."
