Whalers Slip Past Milwaukee, 8-7
Hartford beat Milwaukee at Wolves Ballpark, escaping with a 8-7 win. The win in large part was due to right fielder Alex Ochoa, who earned player of the game honors. He was 4 for 5 with a triple and 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Brady Raggio picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-0. Desi Relaford was tagged with the loss. The Whalers improved to a lofty 34-12.

The Whalers used some clutch hitting to beat the Otters, a good example being the at-bat of Mike Matheny in the bottom of the ninth. With two down, Matheny gave his team the lead, 8-7, when he hit a walk-off run-scoring single.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Milwaukee manager . "But we decided not to take it."
