Suns Nip Moonshiners, 3-2
|
Jacksonville overcame a superlative game from Chan Ho Park to beat Asheville, 3-2. The Asheville pitcher took player of the game honors in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings of 2-hit ball. Ricky Bones was the winning pitcher. Over 8 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 9 hits, with no walks and no strikeouts. The save was credited to Mark Dewey, his 7th.
Jacksonville used the timely hitting of Jeff Reboulet to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Suns on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Reboulet.
Jacksonville is 5th in the Atlantic Southeast with a record of 22-24.
