Despite a fine performance by left fielder Darryl Strawberry, the Cleveland Spiders suffered a 5-4 loss to the Minnesota Twins. Strawberry was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs. The Spiders fall to 7-9 and continue their lethargic start to the 1995 season.

Minnesota used the clutch hitting of Koji Akiyama to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Twins ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a big one.

In postgame comments, Akiyama said he was glad to contribute to an exciting win.
