Blue Crabs Get Win, Extend Streak to 6
|
Benefiting from Tony Longmire's productive game, the Ocean City Blue Crabs downed the Rochester Red Wings, 8-2. Longmire was 1-2 with 3 walks, while scoring 2 times for the Blue Crabs. Ocean City reliever Mike Myers picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Tim Scott was saddled with the loss. The misery continues for the Red Wings, which has now dropped 16 in a row.
In the bottom of the first, Guillermo Velasquez hit a run-scoring single for Ocean City. The 50th hit of the season for the Ocean City first baseman put the Blue Crabs on top, 2-1.
Velasquez said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
