Dairy Daddies Win at Rochester, 3-0
|
In a low-scoring clash between Danville and Rochester, pitcher Tim Worrell was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned player of the game honors for Danville in the 3-0 win. In 7 innings, Worrell surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. John Hope locked down his 1st save.
The Dairy Daddies got a lift from second baseman Mike Blowers, who in the top of the fourth stroked a 1-1 curveball into left-center for a 2-run double. It was his 10th double of the season and put the Dairy Daddies ahead, 2-0.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Worrell.
Danville occupies last place in the Atlantic Southeast at 20-28.
