Reimer Hits 3 home runs in White Sox Win
|
Chicago beat Orlando in a rain-soaked ballgame.
With first baseman Kevin Reimer leading the charge, the Chicago White Sox defeated the Orlando Sun Rays, 10-6, at Comiskey Park. Reimer, who is tied for 5th in the FL in triples with 1, hit 3 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored three times. Bill Gullickson got the win, improving to 2-2. He held the Sun Rays to 1 earned run on 3 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 4. David Palmer locked down his 1st save.
Reimer had a key at-bat for Chicago early in the game. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and gave Chicago an early 2-0 lead.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Reimer told the Chicago Times. "It's as simple as that."
The White Sox are off to a tough start, getting just their 5th win in 17 games.
