Bisons Stymie Southeast, Take 9-1 Win
|
Buffalo and Southeast took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.
Buffalo Bisons starter Jeff Suppan was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Southeast Slammers, 9-1. Suppan went 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 1, and struck out 1. His record improves to 4-0. John Frascatore earned the save for Buffalo, his 2nd of the year.
Matt Lawton had a big run-scoring single for the Bisons in the bottom of the second inning. With Buffalo leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Rob Woodward and stroked the single to center. It was his 65th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bisons ahead, 2-0.
"We did more than enough to get the win," said Lawton.
The Bisons improved to a lofty 37-13.
