Cyclones Clip Bisons, 6-5
|
Buffalo got a terrific game from first baseman Kevin McReynolds. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Brooklyn, 6-5. McReynolds was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 4 for 5 with 4 singles. Today's win puts Brooklyn at 26-26, while Buffalo falls to 38-14.
Had Dwight Smith not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Smith hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Cyclones.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Smith said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
