Otters Deal Red Wings Painful Loss
|
The Otters had to overcome a fine effort from Rochester pitcher Jose Mercedes to grab a narrow 3-2 win at Stags Ballpark. Mercedes went 8 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Milwaukee has a 3-game win streak, while Rochester has lost 3 in a row.
When he came to bat in the bottom of the tenth, Oddibe McDowell had a chance to end it. Rochester pitcher Chuck Crim had other ideas. But with one out, McDowell hit a walk-off run-scoring triple. The Otters had the win.
"Our guys just had that look of determination," said winning manager .
