|
Suns first baseman Brian Lesher put his stamp on his team's 5-4 win over the Danville Dairy Daddies. Lesher was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs for Jacksonville in the contest. Ryan Bowen, the winner, improved to 4-4. He held Danville to 3 earned runs on 6 hits over 6 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. Mark Dewey earned the save, his 9th.
Damon Buford contributed an important at-bat in the top of the fifth. With the bases loaded, he reached on an error by the center fielder, driving in 2 runs. It was one at-bat that helped send Jacksonville to the win.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Lesher.
The 5th-place Suns improved to 26-26.
